Phoenix LDC Beach Party


Phoenix LDC Beach Party – Friday, 12th August 2011

On a steaming hot August evening Phoenix LDC held for the first time a Beach Party and the venue was at the Golden Bay Resort in Alsancak.

Around 50 members and guests attended the party dressed suitably “cool” to dance, swim, or just soak up the atmosphere.

Another first for the club – there wasn’t any programme for the night, instead requests for peoples favourite dances was listed by Steve and before long there was more than enough to fill the evenings entertainment.

After enjoying a meal, served quickly and cheerfully by the Golden Bay staff the dancing got underway. It was good to see so many on the dance floor especially on a hot evening like this but with the sea a few steps away the promise of a cooling swim made the dancing more enjoyable.

Also nice to see members and guests catching up with each other since the last time they met, some a few days ago and others not since the last class back in June.

The party ended with a much-needed swim and a chance to relax floating around in the sea and keeping an eye out for “Jaws”!

For a first time event, it has proved a success and looks like it will be a summer date for the diary next year.

    Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
